Videos can be added through HTML embeds from other video sites, as we currently do not support uploading videos directly to your event. This can be done using our Custom Fields feature, either through a text field if you want to add text with the videos or as an IFrame field.
To add a video as an IFrame object:
On the Setup tab, click the ‘Custom fields’ button in the upper right menu.
Click the grey 'New' button (you may have to scroll down if you have other fields already set up).
Type the name of the field in the box labelled ‘Question’, even if the field does not contain a question.
In the Description box, type a brief instruction such as ‘Embed a video here using HTML’. This will appear under the Custom Field in the user account profile edit pages.
Select the Field type from the dropdown menu, in this case we will choose 'IFRAME'. If you would like to have text accompanying the video, choose 'TEXTAREA'.
Fill out the rest of the form, choosing to have the field appear on attendee profiles, also ticking the 'Mandatory' tick box if necessary.
Click the blue Save button at the bottom of the page once you're done.
To test if the field works, navigate to the Attendees tab.
Click 'Edit' under your desired attendee (it is highly recommended you create a fake attendee for testing unless someone has asked you to add this to their profile).
You should see something similar to this, with the title and description you previously provided (TEXTAREA has an additional toolbar above): If you do not see this, check the field options, making sure the attendee is allowed to use it.Obtain the HTML code necessary for embedding the video. On YouTube, this can be done by clicking 'Share' then 'Embed' and clicking 'Copy' once you have changed the options to your liking.
If you are using the IFrame field, simply paste your code into the box. You will not see any change yet. If you are using a TextArea field, click the small blue HTML button, then paste your code into the new window. Click 'Update' at the bottom of the window, you should now see the video appear in the text box.
If using the TextArea field, type in any accompanying text. Click the blue Save button.
To see what the field actually looks like, go to your main event website, click 'Search' in the top menu bar and find the attendee you just created this field for. Here is an example of what it might look like:If it does not display correctly or if there are other issues, first delete then paste the code again. If it still does not work or display properly, contact the video site provider (e.g. YouTube, Vimeo, etc.). If you cannot see the field at all on the profile, make sure 'Searchable' was ticked in the field options.
